What Is the Qatar Education Excellence Award?

The Qatar Education Excellence Award has recognised outstanding achievement in education, science and research since 2006. It is organised by MoEHE, and the current window covers its 20th edition.

The award’s CEO, Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, says its goal goes beyond adding new names to the list of winners. It aims to build appreciation for the value of excellence and its impact on personal development and national progress.

The most recent edition shows the scale of interest. The 2026 edition drew 371 applications, up 34 percent on 2025, and honoured 108 winners with 38 platinum and 70 gold medals.

How schools take part

Schools play a direct role in the process. Applications for the teacher category are submitted through schools, and schools also support their students applying in the student categories and the secondary scientific research category.

Who Can Apply?

The award is a national honour recognising outstanding individuals from Qatar in education, science and research. Each of the nine categories has its own approved criteria and required supporting evidence.

You do not need to guess your category. After you log in, the application system displays the nomination categories available to you, based on your registered information and the eligibility requirements.

The award’s website also runs a Help Center with answers on eligibility, evaluation criteria and required documents. To prepare applicants, the award team held virtual introductory sessions in June 2026 and a September 2026 session demonstrating the electronic application system.

Open the award’s official website and click Apply Now.
Create an account with the required personal information, or log in if you already have an account on the Ministry’s systems.
Go to the nomination section and select your category from the ones the system offers you.
Complete the application form and upload the documents and supporting evidence your category requires.
Save as you go with Save and Continue for each criterion, and choose Continue Later if you need to finish in another sitting.
Review every field and attachment carefully, then submit.

The one rule that matters most

Each nomination can be submitted only once. Check every document before the final submission, because there is no option to resubmit or correct the application afterwards.
