Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has presented a new amendment to its rules for family residence and visit visas.
New changes in Family Residence Visa Qatar
In the last months, the rules relating to family residence permits have seen some changes. While even the private sector employee with a salary as low as QR 10,000 was able to enjoy his right to such a permit, some started reporting rejections of such permits when the salary was lower than that. Of course, the authorities have not declared an official change in the rules, but some officials do report that there might have been some changes in the rules.
The Metrash application has also been upgraded to enable the cancellation of the requirement for a NOC from the employee. Applicants are now enabled to upload their employment contract with NOC together. The further announcement by the Ministry of Interior also included that both employers and expatriates should finalize the residence permit process within 30 days of landing in the country without the prior charge for fines.

Another administrative move was made in the verification process of salary credits and education credentials. The WPS verifies the salary credits while verifying education credentials hinged upon the existence of a valid labor contract with the applicant.
