Free Fireworks and Drone Show at DECC Doha on 21 October 2026

Doha gets a free sky show this Wednesday night. A fireworks and drone show in Doha lights up the sky above the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) in West Bay on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. The show starts at 9:15 PM, and watching it costs nothing.
The display celebrates the 30th anniversary of Milipol Qatar, the homeland security exhibition running at DECC this week. You do not need a ticket, a pass, or an invitation. Just pick a good spot outdoors and look up.
Quick Reference: The Show at a Glance
What Is This Show About?
Milipol Qatar is the Middle East event for homeland security and safety, held in Doha every two years since 1996. The 2026 edition runs from 20 to 22 October at DECC, with more than 270 companies from 33 countries taking part. This year marks 30 years of the exhibition in Qatar.
To mark the anniversary, the organisers planned a public celebration in the sky. A synchronised drone performance and a fireworks display will run together above the venue. It is a rare chance to see a free fireworks and drone show in Doha outside the usual National Day and New Year calendar.
One point matters before you go. The exhibition inside DECC is a trade event for registered security professionals, and entry is restricted to visitors aged 18 and above. The sky show is different: it happens outdoors and is open for everyone to watch from public areas.
Best Places to Watch the Show

Around DECC in West Bay. The streets and open areas near the exhibition centre give you the closest view. You will be right under the display, so the drones and fireworks fill the sky above you.
The Corniche promenade. The waterfront walkway gives you the show plus the West Bay skyline in one frame. It is the best option if you want photos with the towers behind the fireworks.
Near City Center Doha. The mall sits next to DECC, so its surrounding streets work well too. You can also step inside for dinner before the show starts.
MIA Park. The park across the bay offers a wide, open view of the whole West Bay skyline. The display will look smaller from there, but the reflections on the water make it worth it.
Whichever spot you choose, arrive by 8:30 PM. Good viewing positions around West Bay fill up fast before any evening show.
How to Get to DECC
By metro: Take the Red Line to DECC station, which sits right next to the exhibition centre. The metro is the easiest option on the night, because you skip West Bay traffic completely. Our Doha Metro map guide shows every station on the line.

By bus: Route 777 serves DECC. It is a workable backup if you are coming from areas the metro does not reach directly.
By car: DECC has a secured underground car park that operates 24 hours a day. Parking costs QR 3 per hour for the first four hours and QR 5 for each extra hour, with a maximum charge of QR 70. City Center Doha parking next door is your backup if the DECC car park fills up.
Traffic and Timing Tips
Leave earlier than you think you need to. Roads around West Bay and the Corniche slow down well before the fireworks and drone show, and a 9:15 PM start means peak crowd movement from about 8:30 PM.
If you drive, expect delays leaving the area right after the show ends. Waiting 15 to 20 minutes before heading to your car lets the first wave of traffic clear. Families with children usually find the metro exit crowds easier to handle than the car park queue.
Keep phones charged and agree on a meeting point if you go in a group. Crowded areas around DECC can separate people quickly once the show finishes.
