Eid al-Fitr
Dates are tentative and subject to changes according to moon sightings.

For ministries, government agencies, and public institutions, the holiday will begin on Sunday, March 30, 2025, and continue until Monday, April 7, 2025.

Public Holidays announced for Eid ul- adha
The official public holidays will span from the 9th to the 13th (5 long holidays) of Dhu al-Hijjah announced by H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Resumption of Work: Employees in the public sector will resume work on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Private Sector & Financial Institutions
- Private Sector: The Ministry of Labour has confirmed that Thursday, December 18, 2025, is a paid official holiday for all private sector employees.
- Banks: The Qatar Central Bank has announced that all financial institutions will also observe the holiday on Thursday, resuming operations on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

If work is required, overtime provisions under Article 74 of the Labour Law shall apply as announced by MOL.

Update (8 Nov 2025): For the 2025 celebrations, the Organizing Committee for Qatar National Day has unveiled the official slogan: “بكم تعلو ومنكم تنتظر” (Bekum Ta’lu W’ Minkum Tantazer) which translates to “The nation rises with you, waits for you.” This powerful phrase is drawn from a 2016 speech delivered by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at Qatar University. The slogan has been chosen to reflect the nation’s core vision that investing in its people and their development is the cornerstone of all progress and achievements.
New Year (January 1)
Qatar and many countries celebrate the new year on January 1, according to the Gregorian calendar. The festivities begin on December 31, and people get together for parties and special dinners on New Year’s Eve.
